On and off ice training designed to help the next generation of hockey players reach their full potential — every shift, every game, every season.
Sam Sternschein’s path through hockey reflects a deep commitment to development at every level. He began his career with the Long Island Gulls and North Jersey Avalanche before advancing to the USHL, where he played for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Lincoln Stars.
Sam went on to play four seasons of Division I hockey for Penn State University (B1G 10), where he earned his degree in Communications, before finishing his collegiate career at Boston College (Hockey East) while earning his master’s degree in Sports Administration. He then spent four years in the ECHL, gaining valuable professional experience and insight into the demands of the highest levels of the game.
Today, Sam brings that experience back home. Sam started 27Hockey to help the next generation of players develop their skills, compete with confidence, and build a strong foundation both on and off the ice. His approach is rooted in the lessons he learned throughout his journey emphasizing detail, consistency, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
